When Apple announced the new iPhone 8, it was quick to tout the device’s durability. With a new, all-glass design, customers were rightfully worried about how sturdy that glass was. “This glass is the most durable ever in an iPhone,” Apple said.
A new video from YouTuber PhoneBuff puts Apple’s iPhone 8 Plus to the test with an extensive drop test and comparison to the Galaxy Note 8.

Hands-on with Apple TV 4K and the new Siri Remote

Bring on the 4K HDR movie binge watching. The new Apple TV 4K is out today and we’ve got our hands on Apple’s new streaming box.
The reviews call it the best TV box on the market, but note its premium price means it’s not for everyone. Apple still offers the two-year old 1080p version for its same $149 price, and $30 more gets you a faster processor with 4K HDR support.

This week for 9to5Rewards, we’re giving away an Apple Park t-shirt, the same one that Apple will sell at its new Apple Park Visitor Center retail store when it officially opens in the coming months.

iTunes Store doubles movie rental playback time to 48 hours

Apple has slowly been improving the movie rental experience on iTunes this year as it focuses on revenue growth from services. Back in March, Apple introduced a new ‘rent once, watch anywhere’ feature that removed a playback restriction for viewing rentals on different devices. Now, Apple has doubled the amount of time you’re allowed to play a rental after you start watching.
